Mountain cabin and vacation rentals

One and two bedroom cabin rentals

Established in 1926, there are nine "Rustic with Comfort" cabins in the woods next to a gently flowing creek.

Most of the cabins have been upgraded with modern kitchens and baths, but we've maintained the rustic ambiance. We have lots of outdoor porches with swings as well as benches, patios, barbeques and a screened gazebo with a swing located near the creek. Enjoy a return to a simpler way of life without electronic over-stimulation. Our goal is to allow you to come sit, relax and take in the mountain beauty. For those who are not quite ready to step back in time, WIFI is available!

The Lodge features the authentic rustic work of John Hentschel and was featured in the Asheville Art Museum. The original porch railings, staircase railings, handrails and signage were made of rhododendron and mountain laurel and are still in use. You will find more photos and information about our history in the office.

In addition to our "mountain air conditioning", we have added window air conditioning units to allow us to take the edge off during the day and still enjoy the mountain air at night (opening windows and letting the cool air in.)

Stroll the grounds and see the wonderful landscaping and original rustic arbors created by our woodworking artist, Rick Placke.

The Labyrinth!

We invite our guests to take time to slow down and reflect by doing a walking meditation in our labyrinth next to the creek. Learn more about the labyrinth.
